The Woman Who Won the Lottery with Visualization

In 2007, Cynthia Stafford was a single mom when she won $112 million from a California lottery. And she did it with visualization. She wrote the figure “$112 million” constantly, slept with the number under her pillow for weeks, meditated on it, and imagined how excited she would be once the money finally came into her life. After four months of obsessive focus she stopped and let go. “Once you’re in the flow of the energy,” she says, “it’s going to happen.” And it did. In May 2007, Stafford won $112 million in California’s Mega Millions lottery.

Wim Hof first caught the attention of scientists when he proved he was able to use meditation to stay submerged in ice for 1 hour and 53 minutes without his core body temperature changing. If there is one thing that most of us could use, it is something to help us relax and let go of the stress of our daily lives. Many of us turn to music to help us in this endeavor. Scientists are now saying that the song “Weightless” by Marconi Union is the best thing for us and is the most relaxing piece of music ever recorded. Take a listen and judge for yourself.

The song, created by the band from Manchester, England, is a carefully arranged series of rhythms and harmonies that help reduce heart rate and blood pressure, and lower the stress hormone cortisol. The group worked together with sound therapists to come up with a soothing tune that slows breathing and lower brain activity.

The Scientific Method of the Buddha

This video looks at Buddhism through a different lens, shining a scientific viewpoint on it as the benefits of freeing the mind from negativity (and therefore obtaining inner peace) can be verified through our own experiences.
